Nano Dimension, which has developed an interesting approach to 3D printing electronics, has appointed Yoav Stern as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2, 2020. He has a proven track record in turning hi-tech companies around, and succeeds Amit Dror, the outgoing CEO who co-founded the company. Dror, who remains on the board of directors, explained: “While the company enjoys revenue growth, global recognition and increased adoption, I believe that we can do much better. After spending several months with Yoav, I concluded that he is the right person to lead us forward and have personally asked him to succeed me and realize the company’s full potential.”

Xeikon has opened a new technology centre in Shanghai, China.

Xeikon has opened a state- of-the-art innovation centre at the Shanghai Printing and Publishing College, China to support its expansion into the Chinese market. It will house a Xeikon 3500 label press for folding carton production with an X800 DFE. Klaus Nielsen, General Manager for Xeikon Asia, says the company is seeing growth worldwide for digital labels and packaging printing, adding: ”Xeikon’s high technology facility will play an important role in the development of our business in China and will support our Chinese customers in helping them to make considered decisions when investing in Xeikon’s digital technologies.”

GEW has taken on Jennifer Heathcote as Business Development Manager. She is based in the US, where she has previously worked for both Integration Technology and Phoseon, and most recently has acted as a technical and commercial consulting advisor to the UV curing industry. She has also written a number of articles on UV curing, as well as co-writing The UV LED Handbook. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Malcolm Rae, Managing Director at GEW, comments: “We are delighted that Jennifer has joined the GEW team. Her depth of technical expertise and understanding of the global UV curing market will enable us to expand into new areas of opportunity and build upon the core business foundations already in place.”

MPS, the Dutch manufacturer of flexo label and packaging presses, has moved its North American operation from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The new offices will also act as a demo centre complete with a 13ins wide EF Symjet hybrid.
