Ricoh launches latex printer
Ricoh has officially announced the roll to roll latex printer that it showed off as a prototype earlier this year at the Fespa Berlin show in May.
Ricoh’s latex printer is available in two sizes as the 1.3m wide L5130 and 1.6m wide L5160.

The Ricoh Pro L5000 series is available in two sizes: the 1.3m wide L5130; and the larger 1.6m wide L5160. These have been developed by Ricoh, unlike the previous L4100 series, which were merely rebadged Mimaki printers. They use Ricoh Gen5 printheads, with maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. Both are capable of producing up to 44 sqm/hr on banner materials suitable for outdoor use and 25 sqm/hr in production mode on vinyl, which Ricoh says will be suitable for indoor work.

The high opacity latex inks are made by Ricoh and certified by GreenGuard. The standard inkset is CMYK but with white as an option. Ricoh says they can print to the usual substrates including wall coverings, window graphics and backlit day/night signage. These printers also boast automated maintenance.
リコーは、このプリンタは 2019年の早い時期にヨーロッパ全域で利用可能となるとしています。これは、Fespaでリコーがアナウンスした 2018年 11月よりも遅れています。
Ricoh now says that this printer will be available throughout Europe from early 2019, which is later than the November 2018 timeframe that Ricoh talked about at Fespa.
