If you are in the inkjet industry, have you met the person who is toasting Ohno anywhere? He is one of my old friends in the inkjet industry, Andrej Keblusek, who lives in Prague and founded an ink manufacturer called MEGA INK.

MEGA INK was later acquired by Sakata Inks and still operates as the European base of the Sakata Inks Group. He has retired, but we still toast each other with a good Czech beer every time I visit Prague.

Now, following Russia’s inhumane invasion of Ukraine, many Ukrainians have been forced to flee to neighbouring countries, and his family has picked up a woman of his acquaintance, who fled from the particularly hard-hit eastern town of Kharkov, to the Polish-Ukrainian border and is looking after her at home in Prague. He is a great friend and I am very proud of him.

Her name is Olha A. She was able to leave the country, but her 32-year-old son Sergei is fighting near Kiev. I sincerely wish him well.

After thinking about what I could do to contribute, I decided to donate money. The other day I donated to the Ukrainian Embassy in Japan, but this time I decided to donate directly to someone I can see.

I would be very grateful if you could help me with the fundraising. I will be responsible for collecting the money, converting it into euros and sending it to Andrej. The whole process will be transparent. I will publish your payment results (on request) under your real name or anonymously. I will publish the results of the remittances in the form of a screenshot of the completion screen of the online remittance at the Bank of Mitsubishi UFJ.

Ukraine’s national anthem, ” Ukraine will not be destroyed.(Ще не вмерла України)”, with a Japanese translation. It appears to be a lyric written precisely for today, but in fact it was written in 1862. It shows that today’s Ukraine is based on a history of domination and independence by neighbouring powers. The lyrics convey the spirit of the Ukrainian people, who, despite the heartbreaking increase in casualties, still continue to fight. Glory to Ukraine!
