Roland launches small flatbed LEF2 printer
Roland has announced a new small flatbed printer aimed primarily at the industrial market. The LEF2-300 is essentially just a larger version of the existing LEF2-200, which was launched earlier this year.
Roland’s LEF2 300 is a small UV flatbed aimed at industrial users.

It’s fitted with four printheads and two UV LED arrays, and has a print area of 770 (W) x 330 (D) x 100 (H) mm. It can print 2.26 sqm/hr in its standard 12-pass CMYK mode, or 1.39 sqm/hr in the higher quality mode. It will print to a wide range of materials inlcuidng PVC, plastics, canvas, wood, leather and fabric. There’s also a clear ink that can produce either gloss or matte finishes, and can be laid down in multiple passes to build up embossed and textured effects.

There are quite a number of these small flatbeds around now, which take the print-on-any-substrate approach of UV flatbeds but with a smaller footprint and lower cost that makes them easier to fit into a wide range of different businesses. Typical applications vary from customised promotional goods, souvenirs, awards and stationery through to electronics, signs, packaging, industrial items and prototypes.
