Ricoh introduces new production print software
Ricoh has announced two new software solutions for production printing, Ricoh Supervisor and Ricoh Communications Manager (RCM), both of which will be shown at this week’s Hunkeler innovationdays event in Switzerland.
Ricoh’s VC70000 is a high speed inkjet press aimed at production environments.

Ricoh Supervisor is an interactive software designed around the Internet of Things. Essentially it allows printers to collect and securely store operational data from sheetfed or continuous feed printers, finishing equipment, software applications as well as manually from operators on the shop floor. This could include information such as ink usage per job, total equipment downtime or operator performance. It’s cloud based and will work with equipment from other vendors. Ricoh says it can help drive improvements and overall efficiencies though it’s worth noting that these days there are quite a number of systems aimed at printers promising to do this sort of thing, ranging from press analytic programs like this to an MIS.

Customers will be able to access the data from any browser or mobile device. They will also be able to use business Intelligence tools to upload data to an analytical dashboard to display trends, inefficiencies, consumables and sales cycles to help drive better business results.

Eef de Ridder, vice president of Ricoh Europe’s Commercial Printing division, explains: “Ricoh Supervisor helps PSPs make smarter decisions so they can stay competitive and relevant in today’s marketplace. They can run complete operational assessments and view critical events that paint a true picture of system utilisation. This includes comparing the actual throughput with what is scheduled to help performance optimisation.”
一方、Ricoh Communications Managerは、エンドツーエンドのワークフローとカスタマーエクスペリエンス管理を提供する、スケーラブルな Software as a Serviceのソリューションです。 Ricoh Process Directorのようなワークフローの自動化から MISまで、さまざまな種類のソリューションで使用できます。デジタルおよび印刷通信を接続、管理、報告し、典型的な顧客通信管理（CCM）システムの機能コンポーネントを接続するための再現可能で予測可能な方法を提供することに焦点を当てています。
Meanwhile, the Ricoh Communications Manager is a scaleable Software as a Service, solution that offers end-to-end workflow and customer experience management. It can be used with a range of different types of solutions, from workflow automation like the Ricoh Process Director to MIS. It connects, manages and reports on digital and print communication and focuses on providing a repeatable and predictable way to connect the functional components of a typical Customer Communications Management (CCM) system.

According to de Ridder: “RCM supports PSPs who are moving away from single point, standalone solutions toward integrated communication platforms. It delivers complete campaign management information from the job details to billing and invoicing, provides revenue opportunities with rapid development of new services that enhance the customer experience and delivers a growth platform to create, manage and track, print and e-communications.”
