Mouvent, which is effectively the inkjet subsidiary of Bobst, has signed a number of strategic partnerships with the principal distributors of textile printing solutions in Italy, Turkey, India and China.

Ghislain Segard, marketing and sales manager for Mouvent’s textile machine, explained: “We picked out Italy, Turkey, India and China as our four key markets for the rich and long history of their respective textile industries. It is here, where innovations in textile printing are appreciated for their intrinsic worth, and we expect the Mouvent Cluster technology at the heart of our textile printing solutions to catch on very quickly.”

Thus Mouvent has established a direct sales team in Italy, which is the third biggest exporter of textiles worldwide. The other distributors are PSC in Turkey, Jet Tech in China and Fortuna Colours & Prints LLP in India. Mouvent will also set up a showroom in each of these countries.

Mouvent’s inkjet printers are based around a printhead module, that it calls a Cluster, but which is really a number of Fujifilm Samba printheads that have been reassembled and stitched together. Last year Mouvent showed off a new inkjet textile printer, the TX801, an eight-colour machine capable of producing up to 200 sqm/hr. It can handle knitted, woven and non-woven textiles with a maximum fabric width of 1,820 mm, with roll diameters of up to 400 mm.
