Roland has officially launched its Texart XT-640S-DTG t-shirt printer, which it has already shown off as a prototype at several shows over the last year or so, and which I’ve written about here after last year’s Fespa show.
Roland has developed this Texart XT 640S, which uses pigmented inks to print directly cotton, taking up to 12 jigs at a time.

It is an interesting device as Roland has essentially adapted a roll-fed textile printer by mounting it onto a table that can hold up to 12 jigs to create a machine capable of a reasonable throughput. Roland says that it can print a t-shirt in around eight seconds

It uses CMYK and high-density White sublimation inks and can print full-colour designs, photos, logos and text directly onto a wide range of cotton, cotton-rich and white polyester T-shirts and apparel. It comes with the latest ErgoSoft Roland RIP with variable data and an auto-white function.
