OPM develops direct to object printer
Dutch company OPM Europa, which makes specialist labels for various chemical companies, has developed a direct to object inkjet printer, the LabelSaver, by combining a Trojan Label print engine with a robotic system.
OPM Europa has developed this direct to object printer, the LabelSaver, based on a Memjet Trojan print engine.
この Trojanは Memjet VersaPassプリントヘッドを採用しています。つまり、CMYKで印刷する Memjetの水性染料ベースのインクを使用しています。OPM Europa BVの創設者でありヨーロッパのセールスディレクターである Dursun Acunは次のように説明しました。「VersaPassテクノロジーのモジュール性と Trojan Labelのサポートにより、エンジニアリングコストを節約し、より手頃な価格でこのユニットを提供できます。」
The Trojan is based around Memjet VersaPass printheads, meaning that it’s using Memjet’s aqueous dye based inks, printing in CMYK. Dursun Acun, founder and European sales director at OPM Europa BV, explained: “The modularity of VersaPass technology, combined with the support of Trojan Label, meant I could save money on engineering costs and offer this unit at a more affordable price.”

The idea is that manufacturers will be able to print direct to products and save the cost and bother of printing labels. It was originally developed to print directly to jerry cans, metal paint cans and plastic containers. It can print at a rate of 500 jerry cans per hour in full color, 360 degrees. The solution is also capable of printing on Memjet-receptive coatings for flexible packaging and films.
