Finally FESPA has come back live! Our Nessan Cleary is physically visiting RAI Amsterdam and taking photos of whatever drew his attention at random. This is really valuable as we, Japanese are not yet able to visit overseas exhibitions freely as before.

■ これは FESPAショーが行われている RAIセンターの写真です。全員が予防接種を受けていることを証明しなければなりません。そのため、2枚目の写真では、予防接種の状況を証明するために、全員を2つ目の入り口に誘導するサインが表示されています。
Here’s a picture showing the Rai centre with the Fespa show.Everyone has to prove that they are vaccinated – so the second picture shows the sign directing everyone to a second entrance to prove their vaccination status – though it would be more efficient if they had put the vaccination station at the main entrance.

■ この写真はSwissQPrint社のブースで撮ったものです。彼らは第4世代の新しいフラットベッドを発表したばかりで、基本的には新しいコニカミノルタ1280iプリントヘッドを追加しています。
この写真の色がどうなっているのかはわかりませんが、オートホワイトバランスを追加する機会があれば、もっと良くなると思います。
This picture is from the SwissQPrint stand – they’ve just introduced the new fourth generation of their flatbeds – essentially they’ve added the new Konica Minolta 1280i printheads.
Not sure what happened to the colour in the picture – it would be better if you get a chance to add automatic white balance, which I’ll do when I process the picture properly.

■ フラットベッドは、Durst社が1年ほど前に買収したアメリカの会社 Vanguard社のものです。Vanguard社は独自のヨーロッパ流通を計画していますが、現在は Durst社のネットワークを通じて Vanguard社製プリンタのヨーロッパでの販売を開始しています。Vanguardは、Durstの主要拠点の隣にあるイタリアの Brixenに独自のヨーロッパ施設を設立しています。Vanguard は、大判プリンターの世界では最高の Durst のワークフローを使用していますが、Durst のプリントヘッド技術は使用していません（マネージング・ディレクターの David Cich 氏は京セラ製ヘッドの使用を希望しています）。
2枚目の写真は、2ヶ月前に発売されたばかりの非常に高速な昇華型プリンタである Durst iSubです。Durst社はすでに10台を販売しており、うち6台は米国の顧客に販売しています。

The flatbed is from Vanguard, an American company that Durst took over a year or so ago. They’re now starting to distribute the Vanguard printers in Europe through the Durst network though Vanguard is planning on setting up its own European distribution. Vanguard is also setting up its own European facility, in Brixen in Italy, next to Durst’s main base. Vanguard is using Durst’s workflow, which is easily the best in the wide format world, but not Durst’s printhead technology, as managing director David Cich prefers to stick with Kyocera heads.
The second picture is the Durst iSub, a very fast dye sublimation printer that was launched just a couple of months ago. Durst has already sold 10 of these, including six to one US customer.

■ 今までのFespaに比べて、確実に混雑していません。また、スタンド間の通路も広くなっているので、混雑していないように見えます。とはいえ、いくつかのスタンドの周りには人が集まっています。この 2枚の写真は同じ場所から撮ったもので、コントラストをつけるために 90度回転させただけです。
The show is definitely not as busy has Fespa has been in the past. Also the aisles between the stands are much wider, so it looks less busy. That said, there are groups of people around some stands. These two pictures were taken from the same place – I just turned around 90º to show the contrast.

■ また、いつものFespaのように、ショーの規模は大きくありません。中央に一つのホールがあり、その両側にいくつかのスペースがあるという感じです。複数のホールを使っているような印象を受けますが、すぐにショーの端に来てしまいます。
Also – the show is not as big as Fespa normally is. It feels like one central hall with some space either side. It gives the impression that they are filling several halls but you can quite quickly come to the edge of the show.

■ 実際、ここにはいくつかの中国企業が参加していますが、中国人スタッフはおらず、ヨーロッパの代理店だけが参加しています。私の知る限り、この展示会にはヨーロッパ人しかおらず、数人のイギリス人と数人のアメリカ人がいます。
Actually there are several Chinese companies here but no Chinese staff – just their European distributors. As far as I can tell, there are only Europeans at the show, plus a few Brits and a couple of Americans
