Epson to launch F500 desktop dye sub
Epson has announced a new 24ins dye sublimation printer, the SureColor SC-F500, which is essentially a smaller version of the 44ins wide F6300 announced at the beginning of this month.
Epson has developed this desktop 24ins dye sublimation printer for the short run, sampling and on-demand markets.

It’s aimed at the short run, sampling and objects market that Epson had originally targeted with the F6000-series. However, Epson discovered that many customers simply grouped the bigger machines to set up production print farms, which in turn led to the introduction of the F6300 and its new take up roll.

So this new F500 is an even smaller and cheaper machined targeted specifically at smaller promotional houses, photo labs, clothing producers and copy shops looking for short run and on-demand printing. It’s the first Epson dye sub with Wi-Fi connectivity and also features a 4.3ins touch screen and automatic switching between cut sheets and roll media as well as Epson’s LFP Accounting Tool to help users calculate print costs. The inks are supplied in 140ml bottles that can be refilled.
