SwissQprint has set up an ink laboratory at its headquarters in Kriessern in the north of Switzerland to help it develop the inks for its wide format printers.

SwissQprint says that this was a substantial investment that took a year to plan and fully commission. The lab, which is 100 sqm, is mainly to ensure quality control rather than to manufacture inks, and allows the company to work more closely with its ink suppliers and to have greater influence on developments in order to meet market requirements. There are four people working in this lab, which also contains some equipment such as a drop watcher to test the effects of different inks with printheads.
